Born in the wrong Body - Gender Identity Disorder

Got stuck in the wrong body? Most of the people now can't determine their exact gender. Gays and lesbians are the people who have gender issues. Those people is suffering from a mental illness called Gender Identity Disorder. It is a condition where a person identifies itself as an opposite sex. This illness causes the person to experience great discomfort regarding his/her own sex orientation. This is a serious condition which must be alarmed to avoid discrimination.

Here's the symptoms of Gender Identity Disorder I got from www.nlm.nih.gov:

Children:
  • Are disgusted by their own genitals
  • Are rejected by their peers, feel alone
  • Believe that they will grow up to become the opposite sex
  • Have depression or anxiety
  • Say that they want to be the opposite sex
Adults:
  • Dress like the opposite sex
  • Feel alone
  • Have depression or anxiety
  • Want to live as a person of the opposite sex
  • Wish to be rid of their own genitals
Either adults or children:
  • Cross-dress, show habits typical of the opposite sex
  • Withdraw from social interaction

The disorder affects an individual's self-image and lifestyle, this can impact the person's mannerisms and behavior who are committed to altering their physical appearance. This can be diagnosed by a trained mental health professional through medical history and psychological exams.

There is no human rights treaty related on sexuality and gender rights. It is clear that people having gender issues have the right to enjoy all human rights available to other members of the community.

"Our true nature is free of any and all notions of gender, of any notions of difference whatsoever. "
